what are your thoughts about facebook?

i have noticed a shift in online attention in the past year. we have seen many trends in the internet so it doesnt surprise me to see this shift. i remember when myspace was king. everyone seemed to want to spend time on myspace and customize their page. i have to admit, i have never been a fan of all social network sites. i like twitter the best and spend most of my energy on twiter. i also love youtube. youtube is more lower maintenance then all of the other sites, at least for me. i have slowly become more interested in facebook. i really dont understand it all yet. in fact some people wonder why i dont do more on facebook. i avoided it for the longest time thinking it would be just another trend that would come and go. it appears that i was wrong. maybe it will go but it doesnt seem to be losing speed yet. in fact it seems to be establishing a more solid foundation than i would have ever imagined.

i began to pour some time and energy into facebook last year. it was, and still is, difficult to keep up with. with so many emails coming thru and comments to respond to it seems overwhelming. it can be alot of work if you let it. but my question is, “have you spent more time on facebook than other social sites?”. has their been a shift from reading blogs to just going to facebook?

im not sure what i think about it all yet. i think facebook has allowed people to get their online fix each day and it stops there. im just curious to what you think.

we were sitting on the runway in greenbay wisconsin. the pilot said prepare for take off and powered up the engines. we sped down the runway for a while and then he slammed on the brakes. i was like “whaaat??”. i knew that wasnt normal and leaned over to john my road manager and said “we are gonna  have a do-over”.  the pilot came on and said that w couldnt take off because there was a flock of seagulls. we looked outside and saw birds everywhere. we turned the plane around and waited for snipers to come and shoot some birds. they had guys in pickup trucks clearing the runway for us. later we tried it again. we landed safely in detroit and i sent out a message on twitter about it. that is when the comedy began. i started getting all of these messages. some said they didnt know that flock of seagulls were still around and somebody said i should” run, run so far away” and they continued more of the same. so apparently there is a band called “flock of seagulls”. i had no idea. some people thought it would be funny to tell me they thought that the band was on the runway. that would be  tough crowd for the band. and it would be difficult to sound check. with all of the plane noise and having to move out of the way each time a plane landed would be annoying.

haha. i cracked up once i realized how that all sounded. follow me on twitter and get in on the life and drama as it happens.

we have been in florida this week. we are doing shows in different places all week. tonights show was really great. there was about 1000 people there. we were in a little place called arcadia. friday night we will be in bradenton fl. for everyone who is near this part of florida you should come out to the show.

tomorrow we have our fellow gypsy friends coming down to orlando. we are gonna take them to disneyworld. its stephanie smiths birthday so we are gonna have some fun with mickey mouse.

another thing i am excited about is the cuban food at the columbia restaurant. we went there today and plan to go again on thursday. you are all invited.

i am having some trouble getting internet here at my hotel. i apologize for the slow responses and the delayed blogs. i promise i will do better. by the way, if you want to stay up with me, make sure you are following me on twitter. i will tell all of you floridians what time we are gonna hang out by twittering.

we are crazy busy right now. we have been going nonstop for many weeks now. after a long weekend in alaska we flew to kansas city. today we had the day off so we hit all of the chocolate shops in the city. we found some great chocolate. more about that later. wednesday night is a show in mobberly missouri. after the show we drive 3 hours to get to the airport. we get a quick nap then fly to canada. it is going to be a very long day. friday we do 2 shows during the day at schools then fri night we do a show at a theater. saturday we do another show in canada. sunday we fly home.

we are too busy to really get any time to chill. we are going to keep going hard tho because we will get a break after next weekend. i am not complaining at all. at least we are working. many people dont have any work.
