social experiment-violinist joshua bell

why is this amazing?

watch this violinist. his name is joshua bell. he is a world class musician. he is playing a 3.5 million dollar violin. just days before this experiment he was playing for a sold out crowd in boston. tickets were $100. now he is playing the same music but in a different context. same music different location but the reaction is completely different. no one even stops to listen. no one cares. even though he is amazing at playing one of the most amazing pieces of music ever written, he goes unnoticed because he is out of context.

it goes to show you that context is everything. i wanna hear your thoughts

This is such a real picture of us – we are so focused on what we are doing and what we want that we miss the amazing gifts that God puts in our paths because they do not fit “our” image or plans. I am ashamed to say that I have passed by some of God’s blessings because I was so focused on “the plan”. How many people passed up the blessing of a free concert by a master because they were too busy to appreciate it? I also wonder how many of those same people paid to see Joshua Bell preform and had to sit back from him and could have enjoyed front and center, no waiting. It will certainly make me pay more attention when I go along my way.

    Thanks for sharing this.
